Installation Guide for Permanent Anchors of a Temporary Car Shelter

1. Placement of Anchors:

Start by identifying the correct positions for your anchors according to the illustration provided with your shelter. The anchor positioning should be in relation to the structure of the shelter and its size.

Determining the Number of Anchors : The number of required anchors depends on the length of the car shelter:

  • For shelters up to 24 feet in length, use 4 anchors.
  • For shelters that are 28 feet and longer, use 6 anchors.

2. Drilling Anchor Holes :

Use a suitable drill to create holes in the ground for the anchors. Each hole should be â…ž inches in diameter and between 12 to 18 inches deep, depending on the anchor’s specifications and soil type. Make sure to locate these holes approximately 2 inches away from the poles of the shelter to avoid damaging the structure.

3. Installing the Anchors:

After preparing the holes, insert the driving head into the anchor. Make sure to screw it in completely, ensuring that it’s flush with the top of the anchor. This will allow you to drive the anchor efficiently into the ground until it is level with the surface.

4. Setting the Anchors :

Once the driving head is properly installed, remove it and replace with the push rod. Utilize a mallet to drive the push rod, causing the anchor to penetrate further into the ground. Continue this process until each anchor curves out within the soil, indicating it’s correctly set.

5. Attaching the Eye Bolts:

After the anchors are firmly set, install an Eye Bolt into each one by screwing it in securely. Connect your car shelter to each Eye Bolt, ensuring it’s tightly fastened and stable.

End of Season Maintenance: When the season ends and the shelter is no longer needed, it’s advised to replace the Eye Bolts with the supplied screws to protect the integrity of the anchors and prepare for the next installation.

Remember to always practice safety when using tools and follow all instructions as provided by the manufacturer.
